Hey! We Are Dan and Bailey…
We are so excited to have you here! We have been traveling Japan for years and explroring something new and exciting every time. We fell in love with the Japanese culture and now we can’t stop returing. It’s safe to say we are adicted to the beauteful culture in japan.
We are adventurous travelers which means we love to try new things. It could be interesting food, a daring hike or even just meeting new people in local spots. With that said, we are bucketlisters whcih means we always check out the top sights too – becuase we believe they are the top sights for a reason.
With that said, we promise to be unapologetically honest – we don’t consider everything in Japan “worth it.”

Hey! I’m Bailey one half of The Japan Travel Blog.
I’m the in depth planner who loves to know every detail before visiting a new place or trying something new. I grew up in Edmonton, Canada but i havent lived there for the last 10 years. Instead, I’ve been discovering the world and I settled in Queenstown, New Zealand.
I do everything with a smile but often times deep down I’m incredibly nervous. I know I’m not the only one and thats why I can relate so much to other travelers – especially when it comes to traveling Japan.
I’m so incredbly passionate about traveling and I’m the creator behind another popular New Zealand blog called My Queenstown Diary. Although I love writing about New Zealand, I’ve fallen in love writing about Japan through a travelers eyes as oposed to a locals.
Oh, and although many people say my lifes a holiday (it’s not) I love getting away from Queenstown’s small town vide (I literally know everyone!)
Enjoy our blog and Japan!

It’s nice to meet you! I’m Daniel and I’m lucky enough to be married to the beautiful lady above.
Before visiting Japan I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it – seriously! I’m not a planner and if you’ve started your research into Japan you know it takes a lot of planning. Thankfully after my first visit I learnt a ton and my love for Japan got me behind the computer booking attractions and expereinces not a second past their release date – a little out of character for me but Japan has that effect.
I love Japan for the food! Seriously, I’ll try anything once and I fell in love with the Japanese culture around food. It’s all about quality from the best meats, delicious strawberries that can cost a small fortune and delicate hand crafted sushi. Oh and don’t forget the ramen which all over Japan is the best cheap meal money can buy!
When I’m not in search of my next meal, I love spending my time in Japan playing golf, exploring the country side or trying my best to speak Japanese with the locals.
I think what I love most about Japan (aside from the food) is the calm feeling of staying in a Ryokan or relaxing in an Onsen. Many people think Japan is all about the Hustle and Bustle but in many parts, it’s not!
